Bonny J. Vrooman, age 78, of Castile, died on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester surrounded by the love of her family.
Bonny was born in Warsaw, New York on August 7, 1937 a daughter of the late Charles Qutermous and Marjorie (Bolton) Qutermous-Lennox.

Bonny was a graduate of Castile High School and Rochester Business Institute. She was a certified professional secretary working for Letchworth State Park for many years and retiring from Robeson Cutlery in Castile. She was known to many as the “Lady of the Lake”. She enjoyed sunsets, playing piano and guitar, photography, cooking, following politics, playing games of scrabble with family and friends and gardening at her home on the lake. Her main passion in her life was her family, she loved opening up her home for her family for visits or large gatherings.

She is survived by her husband: Jan Vrooman whom she married on January 21, 1967, 2 daughters: Tara (Wayne) Greene of Gallatin, Tn., Amanda Parker of Perry, 2 sons: Scott Vrooman of Milford, Ct., Brooks (Christine) Vrooman of Mount Horeb, Wi., a daughter-in-law: Melissa Vrooman of Castile, 16 grandchildren: Casey (Jaime) Bailey, Bobbie (Patrick) Carroll, Jeremy (Katherine) Greene, Jackson (Megan) Greene, Scott (Amy) Vrooman II, Miranda Vrooman, Ammon Vrooman, Kate (Doug) Miller, Tara “little T” Vrooman, Michael Vrooman-Arroniz, Leah Parker, William Parker, Jan Lawrence Parker, Sadie Vrooman, Hailey Vrooman and Zachary Vrooman, 11 great grandchildren, 5 beloved nieces: Sharon, Sandy, Donna, Connie and Pam, along with many other dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her step-father James Lennox who helped raise her, her 1st husband Charles Clark, an infant sister: Susan Lennox, and 2 brothers Paul and Jack Qutermous.

Family and friends may call from 7-9pm on Friday December 4th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry. A celebration of Bonny’s life will be held on Saturday December 5th at 1:00pm at the Mt. Zion Tabernacle Church 5503 Broughton Rd. in Silver Springs. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Gainesville.
