Catherine A. Parker

Catherine A. Parker, age 90 of Silver Springs, NY passed away on Monday July 12, 2021 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
She was born on June 10, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Caputo) Merlo-Gagliardo.
Catherine was an administrative assistant to the chairman at the Chemistry Department at SUNY Geneseo for many years before taking an administrative assistant job at Letchworth State Park to the Regional Director for State Parks retiring in 1992.
Catherine was a member of St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish (St. Mary’s Church) in Silver Springs where she was involved in the KIVA program, church choir and active on many other committees in the church. The Silver and Gold Club in Castile, Castile Historical Society and the Wyoming County Democratic Committee. She enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband Don, reading, cooking and entertaining for her family.
She is survived by her 2 sons: Donald (Melinda) Parker of Bradenton, FL., Richard (Cindy) Parker of Leicester, former daughter-in-law: Nancy Parker of Perry, 4 grandchildren: Donald J. Parker of Perry, Trisha (Justin) Reynolds of Corfu , Anthony (Katelyn) Parker of Castile, Stephen Parker of Stanford, CT., 2 great grandchildren: Donald “Alex” Parker, Mae Reynolds, 3 step great grandchildren: Kayla, Brianna and Julia Reynolds.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her step father: James Gagliardo and husband: Donald E. Parker who passed away in 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 30th at 11:00 am at St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish (St. Mary’s Church) in Silver Springs.
Catherine will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Silver Springs.
