Doreen J. (Wyant) Hibbard, age 61, of Holley, NY, passed away on Friday December 22, 2017 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry surrounded by her loving and caring family.
Doreen was born in Warsaw, NY on July 9, 1956 a daughter to the late Merton C. and Lois (Waite) Wyant.
Doreen was a 1974 graduate of Perry Central School. She worked in food service her entire life. She worked for 20 years at Holley Central High School, was a baker for Texas Roadhouse Restaurant in Florida and was currently in the bakery at Tops in Batavia until her illness.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Perry Center, the former Tri Town Cadets and St. Joe’s Alumni Drum Corps where she was in the color guard. She enjoyed flower gardening, baking, especially during the holidays, many knew Doreen as “Grandma Cookie”. She enjoyed spending times with friends and family, especially past friends from the drum corps. She loved raising her family and being a grandma.
She is survived by her husband: H. Wayne Hibbard whom she married on May 20,2015, 1 son: Jason (Michelle) Oliver of Irving, 2 stepchildren: Heidi (Rick) Bordges and Christopher (Jenae) Hibbard both of Flowermound, Texas, 2 brothers: Douglas (Bobbie) Wyant of Perry, Duane (Kristy) Wyant of Castile, a sister-in-law: Karen Wyant of Perry, 6 grandchildren: Zachary Oliver, Kamryn and Dillon Bordges, Peyton Danal, Liam and Izzy Hibbard, along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by a brother: Donald Wyant who passed away on March 13, 2017.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Wednesday December 27th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 N. Main St. in Perry.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 28th at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church 7209 Rt 20A in Perry Center.
She will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Perry Center.
