Leona M. Murphy

Leona M. Murphy, age 76, died on Tuesday December 23rd at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
She was born in Warsaw, New York on November 2, 1938 a daughter of the late Kendrick and Viola (Nudd) Uptegrove.
Leona worked for the former Kittinger Funiture Company in Castile.
She was a member of the Warsaw Moose Club in Warsaw. She enjoyed playing cards, doing ceramics, and mostly was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Roxanne (Donald) Pike of Silver Springs, Elly (John) Heubush of Silver Springs, Elaine(Mitch) Washburn of Portageville, Kimberly Packman of Silver Lake, a son: James (Sherry Bryant) VonGunden of Perry, 5 Step-children: Diane Murphy of Eure, NC, Terry Schoenemann of Silver Lake, Cora Sue (Bob) Gebo of Ft. Edward, NY, Mike Twiss of Portageville and Bryant Twiss of Pike, 2 sisters: Beverly Taylor of Phoenix, AZ., Louise Ripley of Warsaw, a brother: Leonard Uptegrove of Warsaw, 7 grandchildren: Joe (Kelly) Washburn, Ashley (Joseph) Carmichael, Justin (Pam Landry) Washburn, Steven (Paige) Knitter, Austin Wise, Dakota Pike and Jacob Keenan, 8 great grandchildren: Marissa Wilson, Ethan Washburn, Levi Washburn, Kyler Carmichael, Gracie Jo Carmichael, Harper Knitter, Makayla Washburn and Zoe Washburn, along with several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two husbands: LaVerne VonGunden, and Harry Murphy, and longtime companion Kenny Miller, siblings: Catherine, Edward and David.
Family and friends may call from 11 am-1:30 pm on Monday December 29th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry where services will follow at 1:30 at the funeral home.
