Paul H. Gebauer

Paul H. Gebauer, age 86 of Castile, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at his home.

He was born on September 10,1937 in Buffalo, NY a son to the late Henry and Grace M. (Michener) Gebauer. When Paul was a teenage his family moved to Castile.

He was a graduate of Letchworth Central School, class of 1955. After graduation Paul worked for George K. Thomas. In 1968 he and his business partner Karl Chasey started a construction business called Paganaka Corp. Years later he took the business on by himself and retired in 1994. He built many homes in the Castile and surrounding area.

Paul will be remembered by his charming wit and deep love for his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. He and Nancy loved having street picnics, progressive dinners with neighbors, or just having a neighbor or friend pop in for a beer in the garage. His pastime was always looking for yard sales, estate sales and auctions as well as having many yard sales himself.

Paul was a member of the Castile fire Department, Castile Community Club, Trustee for the Castile Village Board and attended the United Church of Christ in Castile.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Nancy K. (DeVinney) Gebauer, 3 sons: Mark (Deb) Gebauer of Perry, Michael (Pam) Gebauer of Castile, Albert (Glenda) Kennedy of Delaware, 2 daughters: Shelley Fox of Portageville, Margie (Dave) McCallum of Bliss, close family friend: Doug (Jody) Dunning of Perry, 10 grandchildren: Brandon (Heather) Gebauer, Shauna (David) Close, Rachel (Mike) Maston, Bradley Gebauer, Jamie (Corey) Meyer, Lindsey (Sean) Gebauer, Kaylea (Tim) Bryant, Brian (Brooke) Fox, Erin Reiter and Daniel Kennedy, 13 great grandchildren: Devin, Delyzah and Destiney Gebauer, Mikayla and Trevor Maston, Oaklee Nowak, McKinley and Mavery Bryant, Ellie and Madelyn Meyer, Michael, Parker and Isabella Close, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends may call from 10am-1pm on Saturday April 20th at the Castile United Church of Christ 4 Washington St. in Castile where services will follow at 1pm.

Paul will be laid to rest in Grace Cemetery in Castile.
