Ruth E. McClurg, age 75, of Perry died on Thursday July 30, 2015 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.
She was born in Warsaw, NY on September 17, 1939 a daughter of the late Carl A. and Margaret (Morrow) Palmer.
Ruth graduated from Pavilion High School. She worked for the North East Laundry, Perry Knitting Mill, Mallory Timers and the Perry Herald and Shopper.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, bowling, watching football and NASCAR Racing and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a step-son: Tad (Alyssa) McClurg of Colorado Springs, CO., step-daughter: Molly (Joe) Bockenek of Lima, Peru, sister: Mary A. Moag of Perry, grandchildren: Gus, Emma and Megan Bockenek of Lima, Peru, sisters-in-laws: Betty White of West Palm Beach, FL., Virginia (Ed) Culver of Sun City West, AZ., Lois Taylor of Leicester, Lynn Wood of Perry, Carol McClurg of Rochester, Betty McClurg of Castile, brother-in-law: Donald McClurg of East Bethany, dear friends: Jim (Mary) Liberti of Perry and Rick (Bev) Covert of Leicester along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband: Larry McClurg who died in 2013, mother-in-law: Maxine McClurg, sister-in-laws: Barbara Anderson and Joan McClurg, brother-in-laws: Robert Anderson, Phillip Taylor , J.N. White, Alvin Wood and Robert and Jack McClurg.
There will be no prior visitation.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Perry Fire Department P.O. Box 243 Perry, New York 14530, Perry Emergency Ambulance P.O. Box 288 Perry, New York 14530 or to the American Cancer Society.
