Alberta L. Pike

Alberta L. (Hatfield) Irwin-Pike, age 89, of Castalian Springs, Tennessee, formerly of Perry, passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2026 at the Ascension St. Thomas Hospital Midtown in Nashville, TN.

She was born in Warsaw, New York on September 8, 1936, adopted daughter to the late Raymond and Lucy (Taft) Hatfield.

Alberta was a graduate of Warsaw Central High School. She worked for the former A&P Grocery Store, and Mallory Timers in Warsaw. She retired from Union School in Gallatin, TN where she was a teacher's assistant. She also worked with the Gallatin Cares and Home Safe non-profit organizations and the 4-H Cooperative Extension in Gallatin.

She was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry and First Presbyterian Church in Gallatin, TN.

Alberta loved to do crafts, whether it was making a pinecone wreath for Christmas or preparing a finely detailed scrapbook for a family member. She enjoyed sewing and in her youth riding horses. She enjoyed gatherings with her family. Alberta also was a mentor to the former Tri-Town Cadets Drum and Bugle Corp in Castile.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Denice Irwin of Chicago, Il, Kathleen Seighman of Portland, TN., Laurie Irwin of San Diego, CA., 4 step-children: Everett (Hanna) Pike of Pavilion, Karen Hall of Nunda, Sharon Waite of Fl., Laura Spearman of Canada, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents Alberta is preceded in death by her 1st husband: Merle F. Irwin who passed away in June of 1967, 2nd husband: Everett R. Pike who passed away in January 1991, daughter: Beverly Daniel who passed away in November 2022, son: Daryl Pike who passed away in August 2018. and step-son Gary Pike who passed away September 2011.

Family and friends may call from 11am- 1:30pm on Monday June 22, 2026 at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home 98 North Main St. in Perry where services will follow at 1:30 pm.

A memorial service will be held in Gallatin, TN at a later date to be announced.

Alberta will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
