Arthur G. Knitter

Arthur G. Knitter Jr., age 83 of Perry, NY passed away on Friday April 1, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on November 1, 1938 in Rochester , NY, a son of the late Arthur G. and Florence E. (Weber) Knitter Sr.
Arthur served with the United States Navy from 1956-1962.
He was a tree surgeon and foreman for Monroe Tree in Rochester.
Arthur’s passion in life was spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He shared his love for gardening and bird watching, stories from his world travels with the US Navy, and his knowledge of his heritage. His favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Carol Knitter of Perry, Cristina (Ken) Sherman of Dansville, 2 sons: Mark Knitter of Warsaw, Michael Knitter of Perry, 2 sisters: Helen Deleo of Batavia, Joyce Knitter, brother: Harley (Pat) Walker of Gainesville, Fl., 8 grandchildren: Kaeleigh (Brandin) Scott, Steven (Paige) Knitter, McKenzie Mess, Dakota (Alexis) Packman, Brittni Jennings, Jacob Mess, Mark Knitter and Graham Mess, 14 great grandchildren: Rhett, Jacob, Jada, Harper, Madison, Karson, Aubrey, Grace, Garett, Jay, Dakota, Blaire, Wesley and Oakland, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife: Janice M. (Sushereba) Knitter who passed away in 1999, son: Kurt William Knitter who passed away in 1967, sister Carol Ann Wesley who passed away in 2019 and great granddaughter: Brielle Jennings who passed in 2012.
Private services will be held for the family.
Arthur will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
Instead of memorial contributions made to an organization the family would like people to plant a tree in memory of Arthur.
