Charles R. "Chuck" Preston II, age 78 of Perry, passed away on Thursday October 8, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

He was born on April 17,1948 in Warsaw, New York to the late Charles R. and Juanita W. (Conley) Preston Sr.

Chuck was a 1967 graduate of Perry Central High School and received his LPN from Wyoming County Community Hospital.

He worked for LeRoy Crush Stone, Mendon Farms as a carpenter, Industry Residential Center in Rush where he was an occupational teacher in the print shop, and retired in 2013 from Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility.

Chuck was a member of the New Testament Church in Perry and a former member of the Perry Center Fire Department.

He was a coach for the men's softball team, coached youth bowling at Perry Bowling, and coached little league. Chuck loved sports, bowling and stock car racing. He was an avid Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabre's and New York Yankee fan. Chuck worked at the Perry International Speedway for many years, worked on his good friend (Doug Hewitt) stock car, he made candles, jewelry and keychains. He was instrumental in getting the flags hung in Perry Center to honor fallen hero's that were on escort to Bath National Cemetery. His greatest love was spending time with his high school sweetheart Sandy and family members.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Sandra M. (Moore) Preston whom he married on July 15th, 1967, 2 daughters: Debra (Joseph) Territo of Charlotte, NC, Cheri Ingle of St. Clair, MO, son: Rick Preston of Perry,2 sisters: Cindy (Stanley) Kelley of Owasso, OK, Paula (Scott) Wolcott of Perry, brother: Michael (Cheryl) Preston of Castile, sister-in-law: Marcia Preston of Perry, Mother-in-law: Marion Koson of Mt. Morris, Sister and Brother-in-law: Donna (Larry) Francis of Perry, 2 Brothers-and Sisters-in-law: Donald (Denise) Moore of Seneca Falls, Robert (Meggin) Hernick of Pittsford, 3 grandchildren: Ryan (Julie) Ingle, Danielle Ingle and Tori Territo, 3 great grandchildren: Evelyn, Emilia and Owen Charles Ingle, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother: Dean Preston who passed away in 2020.

Family and friends may call from 11am-3pm on Tuesday October 13th at the New Testament Church 7080 Standpipe Rd. Perry, where services will follow at 3pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry Center Fire Department P.O. Box 204 Perry, NY 14530.
