Christina M. Caito

Christina M. Caito, age 75, of Leicester, passed away Friday June 19, 2026 at home under hospice care.

She was born in Olean, New York on February 5, 1951, a daughter to the late Edwin H. and Frederica C. (Frenz) Gerwitz.

Chris was a graduate of Kenmore West High School class of 1969.

She worked for a Touch of Grayce in Geneseo for many years.

Chris had a heart that bloomed in the garden and at home. She found joy in the simple, beautiful things-tending her flowers, designing warm and welcoming spaces, and appreciating the wonders of nature. Whether she was hiking with Dave, collecting unique rocks or pieces of wood, diving into a good book, or swimming on a sunny day, she embraced life with curiosity, gratitude, and grace. Above all, she cherished her family, and nothing brought her more happiness than being with the people she loved.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years: David Caito whom she married on April 28, 2011, 3 daughters: Alecia Bork of Charlotte, NC, Lindsay (Gordon) Landrigan of Charlotte, VT, their children: Everett and Lewis Landrigan , Megan (Judd) Glenn of Hunterville, NC, step-children: Nathan (Melissa Dudley ) Caito of Geneseo, Emily (Josh) Bruegger of Deer Park, WA, their children: Emily, Lola and David Bruegger. Sisters Carole Clark of Amherst and Celeste (Michael) Thorp of Kenmore, sister-in-law: Susan (Joe) Schrader of Dansville, nephew: Jeffrey (Amanda) Thorp, great niece and nephew: Kylie and Eli Thorp.

Along with her parents, Chris is preceded in death by a niece: Sarah Acton, brothers-in-law: Roger Clark and Steven Caito.
