Colleen S. Caito, age 90, of Perry passed away on December 24, 2023 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw where she had been residing.
She was born on May 22,1933 in Warsaw, New York a daughter to the late Oscar and Lavilla (Schuttee) Calkins.
Colleen was a graduate of Perry High School and attended Continental School of Beauty in Rochester.
She was a self-employed beautician and a daycare provider for over 30 years.
Colleen was a devoted and active member of St. Isidore Catholic Community (St. Joseph’s Church in Perry where she taught catechism, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Ladies of the Church. Colleen was a good hearted
woman who loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her pets, birds, baking, crocheting blankets, and often gave away her famous apple pies, and crocheted blankets. She also enjoyed writing children’s stories, swimming in her pool, decorating her home and entertaining.
She is survived by a son: David (Christina) Caito of Leicester, daughter: Susan (Joseph) Schrader of Dansville, grandchildren: Nathan Caito, Emily (Joshua) Bruegger, Felicia (Aaron) Richenberg, Heather Schrader and Joseph Caito, 2 great grandchildren: Joshua and Jolena Richenberg, sister: Murial Amburgy of Perry, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years: Frederick who passed away in 2013, son: Steven Caito who passed away in 2021, sister: Beverly Vallance and brother: Frederick Calkins.
Family and friends may call from 5-7pm on Friday January 5th at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home 98 North Main St. in Perry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 6th at 10:30am at St. Isidore Catholic Community (St. Joseph’s Church) in Perry.
Colleen will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
