David L. O'Brien, age 67 of Perry, passed away after a battle with cancer on April 3, 2026 at his home.
He was born on September 18,1958 in Rochester, New York to the late Dennis Richard O'Brien and Lieselotte (Meininger) O'Brien-Callaro.
David was a graduate of Letchworth Central High School, class of 1976.
He proudly served with the US Army from 1979-1989
David was a police officer in Leavenworth, Kansas for many years.
He was a member of the Silver Lake Sportsman's Club and Perry Vets Club. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing baseball, watching his son through his sporting events, tending bar and spending time with his family and friends. Dave was known for his sharp, dry and witty humor.
He is survived by his son: Matthew (Abbi) O'Brien of Kansas City, Kansas, sisters: Lorraine Akin of Warsaw, Deborah O'Brien of Perry, Linda (Robert) McMurtry of Silver Lake, brothers: Robert (Shari) O'Brien of Henrietta, Donald and Steven Callaro of Silver Springs, a grandson to be born: Cohen Wesley O'Brien, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, friends.
Along with his parents David is preceded in death by sisters: Carol Salamone and Denise Carney and brother: Harold K. O’Brien.
A Celebration of David's Life will be announced in a future date.
