Donald Eugene VanBuren, age 85 of Perry, NY passed away peacefully Saturday April 19th, 2025 at Hart Comfort Home in Wellsville.
He was born on March 6th, 1940 in Warsaw, New York to the late Raymond and Doris Barry VanBuren
Don was a 1958 graduate of Perry Central School and proudly served with the United States Army.
He was a well-known meat cutter in the area for over 40 years. He was a hunter safety instructor and avid skeet shooter.
When he wasn’t in Carson City, Neveda at the casino you could find him at the Batavia Downs playing the video poker machine.
Don was a member of the Perry Veteran’s Club and Perry VFW.
He is survived by a daughter: Angela (Geoff) Tanner of Carson City, Nevada, 3 sons: Carey VanBuren of Warsaw, Ronald (Ann) VanBuren of Perry and Douglas (Michele) VanBuren of Akron, brother: Barry (Cynthia) VanBuren, 3 sisters-in-law: Pedgy VanBuren, Arlene (Paul) Lynch and Christine (David) Irwin, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Gail Branciforte Van Buren whom he married on August 1, 1959 and brother Raymond VanBuren.
There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Don’s life on May 3rd at the Perry Veteran’s Club in Perry from 1-5pm.
