Gary L. Walton

Gary L. Walton, age 87 of Warsaw, NY, formerly of Bliss, passed away on December 22, 2023 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.

He was born on March 31, 1936 in Warsaw, NY a son to the late Leland and Helen B. (Hall) Walton.

Gary was a graduate of Bliss High School and received his associates degree from Alfred State College. He was drafted into the Army in 1958 where served until 1960.

He and his wife were owner/operators of Je-Hi-Jo Farms in Bliss for many years until their retirement. He was a member of the Bliss Baptist Church, Bliss Fire Department, New York Holstein Association, Wyoming County Fair Association, and was a former Councilman for the Town of Eagle. Gary’s life was all about farming and family. He enjoyed going to draft horse pulls, working with the Wyoming County 4-H program with his children, loved watching football and basketball, and avid LA Lakers fan.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia A. (Fluker) Walton whom he married in 1956, 1 son: Jeffrey Walton of Warsaw, 2 daughters: Jody (Doug Dunning) Walton of Perry, Heidi (James) Stack of Warsaw, sister: Brenda (Joe) Lavery of TN, sister-in-law: Barbara Hall of CA., along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother: Harry Walton.

Family and friends may call from 4-6pm on Wednesday December 27th at the Bliss Baptist Church 3402 Main St. in Bliss where services will follow at 6pm.

Gary will be buried in Lyonsburg Cemetery in Bliss, NY.
