Gertrude E. Jones

Gertrude E. Jones, 91 of Perry, passed away peacefully on Monday July 23, 2018, surrounded by her family at Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw. She was born April 24, 1927 to the late Samuel (Clara Z. Simmons) Gee. She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin L. Jones and several siblings.

Mrs. Jones retired from Champion Company in Perry after many years. She volunteered at the Perry Clothes Closet and was known as the “Mayor of Main Street”. Mrs. Jones was a lifetime member of Brick Presbyterian Church in Perry and volunteered there for most of her life. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life.

She is survived by children Walter (Norma) Gee of Perry; William (Sandra) Jones of Mulberry, FL; Dennis (Tina) Jones of Castile; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main Street, Perry, New York 14530. Her Funeral Service will immediately follow, 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery, Perry.
