Gertrude Ruth White Husted

Gertrude Ruth White Husted, age 96 of Rochester, NY passed away on December 21, 2020 at the Pearl Nursing Center in Rochester where she had been residing.
She was born on May 6, 1924 a daughter of the late Eugene Oscar and Madeline (Wickman) White.
Gertrude was a graduate of Monroe High School class of 1942, and received her Master’s degree in Music from the University of Rochester. She was an elementary school teacher in the city of Rochester, NY. She was also an accomplished musician having studied voice and piano at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, and in Winston Salem, North Carolina. In her retirement years she was an active supporter of animal rights causes.
She is survived by her sister: Margaret W. Dini; 2 nieces: Kristine D. Plumadore and Margaret D. Powers ; 2 nephews: Eugene F. Dini, and Thomas A. Dini.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved Paul C.Husted who passed away while in combat during WWII.
A graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery in Silver Springs will be held in the summer of 2021.
