James J. Baker

James J. Baker, age 70, of Perry, died on Saturday June 21, 2014 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo.He was born in Buffalo, New York on February 13, 1944 a son of the late Clement and Betty (Strozewski) Baker.

James was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from New York State Department of Transportation in Warsaw, where he had worked for many years. He was a member of St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish (St. Joseph’s Church) in Perry. He was an avid fisherman. James enjoyed gardening, cooking, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Peggy (Gorman) Baker whom he married on June 7, 1969, sons; James (Liana) Baker of Rochester, Michael (Jennifer) Baker of Perry; brothers Gary (Barbara) Baker of Niagara Falls, Kenneth Baker of Lakewood, Ronald (Patricia) Baker of Dothan, AL., Gregory (Andrea) Baker of St. Petersburg, FL., grandchildren; Vanessa, Zachery, Amelia and Addison Baker, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish (St. Joseph’s Church) in Perry on Thursday June 26th at 11:00 A.M.
