Covington - John E. Moag, 78 of Covington passed away on his 44th wedding anniversary, July 24, 2025 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
Mr. Moag was born April 30, 1947 in Warsaw, a son of the late Alfred and Elsie (Falkner) Moag.
A lifelong resident of Wyoming County, John was a dedicated farmer and family man who cherished his daily walks with his dog and surprise visits from his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He spent much of his time at Moag Farm, caring for the land and animals, and was often found giving tractor rides to the younger members of his family. Along with being an avid farmer, John was also a member of the Covington Highway Department for 35 years. His legacy of love, faith, and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Elaine (Grisewood) Moag of Covington; children, Christine (Daniel Graham) Johnson of Wellsville, Melissa (Ryan) Huber, and James (Michelle) Moag both of Covington; step-children, Rodell Richardson of Covington, and Risa Rischardson of Wyoming; grandchildren, Cortney Richardson, Amanda DuBois, Jared Weber, Ryan (Tyler) Reddington, Aurora Huber, Noah Moag, Alanna Huber, Colden Huber, Nikola Huber, and Ashton Moag; great-grandchildren, Makenzy, Maddasin, Zayden, Teagen, and Evelyn; sisters, Janice (Bill) Killiam of Mansville, Shirley Farley of East Bethany, and Virginia (Paul) Tobias of Covington. A brother-in-law, Gerald Long of Covington along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
Along with his parents, John is reunited in death with his step-son, Rory Richardson; and sister, Dorothy Long.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday (August 9, 2025) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 98 North Main Street in Perry. John's funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Wyoming will be private.
