Lynn William Ribaud

Lynn William Ribaud, age 70, formerly of Sugar Grove, IL, died surrounded by family on Friday, September 26, 2025 in a nursing home in Barrington, IL, following a severe stroke in 2023.

An enthusiastic polymath and valued physicist at Argonne National Lab.

Lynn was born in Buffalo, NY to the late George and Ruth (Hausle) Ribaud.

Lynn is survived by his siblings Jeanne (Robert) Kofsky, Claire (Douglas Yook) Ribaud, and Marc Ribaud; niece Janice Kofsky; and nephews Robert (Monique) Kofsky and Stephen (Shan Liu) Kofsky and their children. In addition, he leaves behind his family of fellow Argonne employees and dear childhood friend Marty Haller.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael church, 16 North Street. Warsaw, NY at 10 am on Friday, October 3, 2025. Burial following the funeral will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Silver Springs, NY.

Lynn consistently supported his local food bank through his church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Lynn’s memory to your local food bank.
