Mary B. Dell, age 95, of Leicester St. Perry passed away on Monday October 11, 2021 at Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw where she had been residing.
She was born on January 10, 1926 in Angelica, NY, daughter to the late Arthur and Frances (Brenka) Breitwieser.
Mary was a graduate of Angelica Central School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Brockport State Teachers College.
Mary was a homemaker who taught at a one room school in Scottsville for several years, eventually moving her career to Rochester Security Trust and UCO Optical Company in Scottsville
Mary was a devoted and committed member of Hope Lutheran Church in Arcade. She enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, canning, playing cards and board games with family and friends.
She loved taking care of her grandchildren when they were young and was highly committed to their upbringing.
She was predeceased in death by her husband of 66 years and soulmate: Irvin F. Dell who passed in 2017, son-in-law: Hank Zalewski and sisters: Agnes Marie Speers, Ruth Weshe and Bernice Voorhees.
She is survived by a daughter: Janet Osborn-Zalewski of Portageville, 4 grandchildren: Kasey (Alison) Osborn, Daniel (Katherine) Osborn, Nathan (Amanda) Osborn and Lauren (Chris) Blauch, 6 great grandchildren: Elise, Brodie, Nevie, Hayden and Fiona Osborn and Ada Blauch, and 2 dear nieces: Donna Speers of Scottsville and Nancy Austin of Chili.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held on Monday October 18th at 11:00am at the Hope Lutheran Church 2 East Main St. in Arcade.
Mary will be laid to rest in North Rush Cemetery in Rush.
