Nunzio Samuel Cicero passed away peacefully in Sevierville, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving wife and family on October 30, 2023 at the age of 82.
He was born in Warsaw, New York on October 30, 1941 a son to the late Samuel J and Carrie M (Ferrara) Cicero. He was raised in Perry where he attended Perry Central School and graduated with the class of 1959. Nunzio married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Donna (Kelly), and together they raised 4 children, and recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Nunzio was a finished carpenter where he retired from both the Rochester Labor and Carpenter’s Union. He used these skills throughout his lifetime, remodeling their primary home, and assisting many family and friends with their carpentry needs.
He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, and was active in various sporting activities throughout his lifetime, including target shooting and hunting-both of which he did locally and out of state with his sons and close friends. It was not uncommon for him to come home with a ‘new purchase’ for his hobbies, which provided us many laughs around the table.
Nunzio’s commitment to the Lord was evident to all who knew him. His faith carried him throughout his lifetime and during some of the most challenging of times. It was through his faith and devotion to God, that he was able to provide guidance and comfort to others in a truly meaningful way.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna of Sevieville, Tennessee, son Samuel L. Cicero of Pompano Beach, Florida; daughter Christine (David) Sanford of Ridgefield, Washington; son Stephen (Rachel) Cicero of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; sister RoseMary Swede of Geneseo, New York, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving daughter Cheri VanBuren, and sister Ann Arlene Kenna.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 2nd at Eaton Watson Funeral Home. Visitation from 12:00-2:00, service will follow at 2:00pm and reception immediately following at the Genesee River Restaurant and Reception Center in Mt. Morris, New York.
Nunzio will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
