Richard C. Lepkowski

Richard Lepkowski, age 58, of Perry, NY passed away suddenly on April 22, 2022. Rich grew up in Warsaw, NY and graduated from Warsaw Central High School in 1981. Upon graduation, he joined the Navy and served four years as an Aircraft Electrician, finishing his service in Patuxent River,Maryland. Continuing his lifelong love for airplanes, he worked for small independent carriers in Tampa, FL. In 1989, he joined American Airlines in the Fleet Services Division working at Tampa International Airport and then Logan International Airport in Boston until his retirement in 2014. His retirement and personal ties brought him back to Wyoming County, where he had so many fond memories and relationships from his youth. He was most recently working as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Wyoming County Highway Department.
Rich is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Lepkowski of Warsaw, as well as his sister, Marge Lepkowski Roussell Darling. He is survived by his two beloved children: his daughter, Sarah (Jon) Williams and grandchildren Emma and Ellie of Epsom, NH, and his son, Benjamin Lepkowski of Perry. He is also survived by his sweetheart and partner of nine years, Amanda Parker (With whom he shared a home together with Ben), along with her children, Leah, Will and Jan Parker all of Perry. Additionally, the mother of his children, Gail Morin of Barrington, NH, and his dearest siblings, Cathy Lepkowski Ebbert of Killen, TX, John (Barbara) Lepkowski of Batavia, NY, Patricia Lepkowski Albritton of Clearwater, FL and Joseph (Angela Mosby) Lepkowski of Clearwater, Fl, as well as eight nieces and nephews.
Rich was a great father to Ben and Sarah and continued to be through their adult lives. The family moved from New Port Richey, FL to Newmarket, NH in 1995 and built a home. The home was always full of the neighborhood kids, and they all loved to joke around with Rich. He taught Ben to throw a baseball and kick a soccer ball, and he proudly took Sarah to the Daddy Daughter Dance every year. He loved being a father, and his beautiful personality will live on through his family for years to come.
Rich had a joyful and quirky personality that allowed him to get along with anybody. He had a special knack for making people laugh. He playfully considered himself “weird” for his sense of humor, but in reality, he was unique because he could make anyone smile with his large arsenal of jokes and movie quotes.
When he wasn’t busy getting smiles out of people, he was enjoying life to the fullest. Whether he was collecting rocks to add to his wall, searching for treasure with his metal detector, frying up his incredible wings, or trying to capture the perfect shot of the eagles, Rich loved to keep himself busy with his many hobbies.
As an avid collector, Rich was both a treasure seeker and a treasure keeper who made a special effort to keep in touch with everyone from travel through his life. He enjoyed keeping in contact and reaching out to all his friends, family, co-workers, and community who meant so much to him. He loved to reminisce and tell stories about the past, as much as he loved making new memories. His quick wit and smile would bring happiness to everyone he came to greet.
Rich was a proud father, grandfather, partner and man. May he be remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing him as the hard working, honest and unfailing kind man that he was.
A Celebration of Rich’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.
In memory of Rich, please consider doing a good deed for another, or simply take a few moments to appreciate the beauty of Letchworth Falls or Warsaw Falls, as these were some of his favorite places.
