Ronald S. Mattoon, 74, of Perry, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Hospice and Palliative Care Buffalo.
Born March 29, 1951, in Warsaw, New York, he was the son of the late Clayton Mattoon and Frances (Cygan) Laraby. He was also predeceased by his stepfather, George Laraby, and stepmother, Hazel Mattoon.
Ron was a longtime member of the Perry Fire Department and the local Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked for many years as a machinist at LeRoy Industries until his retirement. Cars and racing were some of Ron's lifelong interests. He spent many years racing stock cars at Perry Speedway and enjoyed attending NASCAR races with family and friends. Cruising in his 1972 Pontiac convertible with the Oldies but Goodies Car Club members was another of his favorite activities. Ron was also a dedicated Miami Dolphins fan and loved spending Sundays watching football.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Roby and Rachel (Paul) Webster, along with the mother of his children, Marcia Mattoon; grandchildren, Emma Roby, Jessica Roby, Kirsten Webster, and Adam Webster; sister, Patricia (L. Gerald) Olin; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and step-parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Carol LaWall and Sandra Mattoon.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 98 North Street, Perry. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
