Ronald Edward Rose Sr.

Ronald Edward Rose Sr., age 90 of Simsbury, Connecticut passed away peacefully Sunday November 9th, 2025 at the Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, Connecticut.
He was born on April 16th, 1935 in Perry, New York to the late Charles Ira and Mildred (Reynolds) Rose Sr.
Ron was a 1954 graduate of Perry High School, a 1962 graduate of the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and in 1987, received a Master’s Degree in Management from Hartford, Connecticut Graduate Center.
He served in the United States Army from August 1954 through March 1958. He graduated from Officer Candidate School, Ranger and Airborne Training, attaining the rank of Captain.
Ron spent 10 years in Sales and Marketing positions with General Foods Corporation and 22 years with Diageo in Sales Management positions. He retired in 1994.
He enjoyed his computer, reading, golfing, gardening, genealogy, walking, watching the University of Connecticut Women’s Basketball, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed his beagle, Happy, and border collie mix, Tucker.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Nancy (Toland) Rose whom he married on June 16, 1956 in Warsaw, New York, 2 sons: Charles Patrick (Karen) Rose of Chicago, Illinois, Ronald Edward “Burt” (Denise) Rose Jr., of Madison, Connecticut, Mary Catherine (Gina Fields) Rose of Los Angeles, California , Amy Marie Dunham of Weatogue, Connecticut, grandchildren: C. Michael Rose, John E. (Whitney) Rose, Meredith S. (Ken Hoffmann) Rose, Nicholas P. Rose, Kaitlin A. Rose, Allison E. (Josh) Cohen, Anna K. Dunham, Jacob A. Dunham and Samantha J. Dunham, great grandchild: Rose Cohen, Harper Cohen, Stephanie Cohen, Rhett Rose and Arlo Rose.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Ira Rose Jr., who passed away in 1944.
A graveside service will be held in 2026 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Perry, New York.
