Steven John Cartwright

Steven John Cartwright, age 44 of Fillmore, NY passed away unexpectedly Tuesday July 7th, 2026 at his home.

He was born on May 27th, 1982 in Warsaw, NY, to Sheila I. (Purdy) Aberth and the late Arthur D. "Tuffy" Cartwright Jr.

Steven attended Perry Central High School until 1999 and graduated from Letchworth Central High School in 2000.

He enlisted in the US Navy in 2000 and was a Nuclear Electrician.

Steven was employed by Schneider Electric and was a Field Manager Electrician. He also enjoyed working with his Father and Grandmother with Lavery Concessions as a young boy thru his adulthood.

A member of the Bliss American Legion #1720. Steven loved playing poker and pool. In 2013 he was the Wyoming County Poker Champion and went on the Las Vegas to play in the World series.

Steven is survived by his mother: Sheila Aberth of Perry, fiancée: Becky Chrissy of Fillmore, son: Cole Cartwright of Michigan, daughters: Alyssa Hoy of Franklinville, Sarah Hoy of Fillmore, his grandchildren: Luca, Ivy, Mateo and Cortez, "all were his pride and joy", siblings: Shawna Swain of Perry, Tori Lundy of Gainesville, Jennifer Aberth of Texas, Joel Aberth of Perry, Chase Cartwright of West Seneca, Jeremy Swain of Warsaw along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Along with his father, Steven is preceded in death by his grandparents: Doug (Arlene) Smith, Andrea "Jackie" Lavery and Arthur Cartwright Sr.

A Celebration of Steven's Life will be held on Saturday August 1st from 3pm-on at his mother's home 148 S. Main St. in Perry.
